Standard Little Prism X-Ray Compensating Filter

Octostop Compensating Filters are made of silicone rubber. Their absorption is ideal at twice that of muscle, which permits placing them on only one side of the patient. They are light to carry, easy to handle, readily identifiable and not cumbersome. They are positioned with precision close to the patient. If dropped, they do not break or harm anyone. In the vertical position, they adhere with very little pressure (wash with water if they slip). If too sticky, interpose tissue paper. They resist alcohol and heat and are waterproof. Autoclave is recommended for sterilization; alcohol or Zephiran for disinfection.

Characteristics:

• Has two gradients: one of 37°, for regular filtration; the other of 52°, for steeper filtration. When placed on the collimator, the gradient is 4 times less on the film. VELCRO® is fixed to both extremities.
• Prepare the collimator by placing the self adhesive VELCRO® around the window. If a track is present, use one or two supplied plastic spacer(s) nearby to raise the VELCRO® at the level of the track.
• The little prism may then be fixed in any position
• It may also be placed next to the patient

Abdomen, Horizontal Beam: For sagging abdomen only. Filter no more than 5 to 12 cm on the patient.

Standard little prism measures 21cm L x 8cm W x 4cm H.
Comes with self-adhesive VELCRO® and 4 fixation plates.
