Bean bags with gel overlay are black polyurethane film on one side and blue gel on the opposite side. An added layer of Blue Diamond® Gel helps mitigate pressure related injuries. Blue Diamond® Gel is free of plasticizer, silicone and latex. It is also antibacterial & antimicrobial and provides pressure reducing attributes. Our surgical gel bean bag positioners are manufactured with a urethane bladder. This equates to added durability and longevity. Competitors like the Vac Pac® use PVC which can crack over time.
The manufacturer recommends storing this item in the rigid state to determine if unit has any slow leaks while it is stored, but can also be stored in the evacuated state if preferred.

Instructions
Intended Use: To aid in patient positioning during surgical procedures.
Prior to Every Use: The beads should be smoothed out to an even thickness. The bladder should be visually inspected for any tears, punctures, or suspect areas. The Unit should NOT be used if potentially compromised.
General Application Usage:
- Patient should be placed on the Bean Bag while it is soft. The Bean Bag should be molded around the patient's body or extremity. The Bean Bag should be held firmly against the patient while it is being molded. (This may require a second assistant).
- Suction should be supplied from the headwall through a flexible tube. Continue to apply pressure to the BeanBag while the air is being evacuated from the bladder. 'Click' lock the relief valve once the BeanBag is completely rigid. NOTE: a thicker sidewall will supply a more rigid, superior support. Optionally leave suction line attached to BeanBag for added security.
- Confirm that BeanBag is not leaking and that desired position was achieved.
Cleaning Instructions: The bladder is manufactured with a highly resistant urethane film. It can be cleaned with your standard OR liquid cleansers that are used on the OR table pad surface.
