The Gonad/Ovarian Diaper is an essential garment designed to provide full front and rear radiation protection for the patient’s genital region during fluoroscopy, angiography, or brachytherapy procedures.

• Lead Equivalencies:
  • 0.25 mm Pb (1-Meter Apron): Use only if you can maintain a 1-meter (3-foot) distance
    • Safety: At 1 meter, it provides a lower dose (7.5 uSv) than a .5mm apron used up close (14.0 uSv)
  • 0.35 mm Pb (1-Meter Apron): Use only if you can maintain a 1-meter (3-foot) distance
    • Safety: At 1 Meter, it provides the lowest dose (5.8 uSv) for distanced workers
  • 0.50 mm Pb (Proximity Apron): necessary standard for table-side work or being within 0.5 meters of the source
    • Safety: Offers the highest attenuation (96.5%) against high-intensity scatter
    • Usage: Best for general clinical use when you cannot step back

  • Lightweight Lead - A specialty formulated material engineered to reduce weight compared to standard, traditional lead cores, making it easier and more comfortable to wear without sacrificing dependable protection
  • Lead Free Axion Core™ 1000 - The most economical lead-free core and the heaviest non-lead option. Designed for facilities prioritizing cost efficiency without sacrificing safety. Roughly 5% lighter than traditional lightweight lead cores on the market
  • Lead Free Axion Core™ 2000 - The most popular core that delivers a significant weight reduction compared to both traditional lead and Axion Core™ 1000
  • Lead Free Axion Core™ 3000 - The lightest core, 15-20% lighter than the Axion core™ 2000, this is one of, if not the lightest, lead-free cores on the market today. It gives medical professionals the most comfort during medical procedures
• Fabric Options:
  • Nylon - A classic lightweight fabric, Nylon is a synthetic material with high tenacity and excellent abrasion resistance. Nylon is also highly resilient, has good specific strength, and provides high resistance to insects, fungi, molds, mildew, rot, and many chemicals
  • Polytron - A smooth fabric with a soft touch. Manufactured in the U.S., it has flexible, comfortable qualities due to its Polypropylene construction. This lightweight material is also inherently stain-resistant, PFC chemical-free, and bleach-cleanable
  • PVC EasyClean - A thick fabric that provides a leather-like touch. Made of an ultra-resistant material, it is, as the name suggests, very easy to clean: with a quick wipe, it is clean and ready to go
  • Ripstop - A woven fabric that uses a reinforcing technique to make it more resistant to tearing and ripping. Often made of Nylon, Ripstop is a lightweight material with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern, making it look like diamond stitching
