Bead beating is quickly becoming the preferred process used to break up (lyse) samples in order to release the DNA, RNA and proteins contained within cells. Samples are placed in tubes with the appropriate grinding beads and subjected to high energy mixing. The beads impact the sample, eventually breaking it down on the cellular level releasing subcellular contents.
Includes 10 each of 0.1mm, 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 3.0mm Triple-Pure Zirconium Beads pre-filled tubes
For best results, use Pre-Filled Tube Kits with BeadBug Microtube Homogenizer Item #D1030 and Bead Blaster 24 Microtube Homogenizer Item #D2400
When samples are used for molecular biology applications, the high purity of the Triple-Pure beads is preferred
2.0ml pre-filled microtubes are non-skirted and supplied with caps
Acid washed and processed to remove nucleases and proteases
Quality tested to ensure the elimination of DNase, RNase, protease, and nucleic acids
Bead Material: Triple-Pure Zirconium
Hight density (5.5g/ml) beads - The added density of zirconium beads helps to yield better homogenized samples.
0.1mm and 0.5mm beads are recommended for small samples such as yeast, cell culture or small pieces of tissue
1.0mm, 1.5mm and 3.0mm beads are recommended for larger samples such as large pieces of tissue, plants, seeds, etc.
