Instructions
How to Use:
Place patient's fingers in finger traps. If using stainless steel traps, fingers may be wrapped in sterile dressing to prevent unnecessary skin trauma. Once fingers are secure in traps, place the loop of the finger trap in the appropriate clip on the Digi Grip or other traction device. The traction device may be suspended from an IV pole or traction system. You may also use the Digi Grip, Traction Strap and weight set for additional patient stability.
Sterilization Recommendations: Clean with any standard disinfectant prior to sterilization. Sterilize the finger trap before each use
Steam Sterilization General Instructions: Follow standard hospital sterilization practices. A. Place Clean Finger Traps in an instrument tray. B. Follow the instructions below for recommended sterilization processes.
Pre-Vacuum Steam Sterilization: A. Place Finger Traps in a CSR wrap prior to sterilization. B. Set temperature to 132 degrees Celsius. C. Set exposure time for 4 minutes.
Gravity Steam Sterilization: A. Place Finger Traps (unwrapped) into instrument tray. B. Set temperature to 132 degrees Celsius. C. Set exposure time for 4 minutes.
After cleaning, store in accordance with standard hospital operating procedures to maintain cleanliness. Inspect Finger Trap before and after each use. f the Finger Trap is split or frayed, do not use. Handle and dispose of in accordance with accepted medical practice and applicable laws and regulations.
