Without knowing the exact model you are comparing this to - it could be a variety of factors. This particular stool is constructed of Stainless Steel, it is made in the USA and its platform measures 18" x 12". Stools constructed of chrome, imported from overseas with platforms of smaller sizes are often priced lower.
