Dithiothreitol (DTT - Cleland's Reagent) is used in enzyme preparations to prevent formation of disulfides from sulfhydryl group, thereby stabilizing the enzyme.
DTT should be warmed to room temperature before opening.
DTT solutions should be made fresh prior to use.
