THE RIDGES PLUS: The RIDGES PLUS improve digital arteriography (and venograph) of lower extremities down to the feet. They insure optimum density, prevent halation and thus facilitate -digital subtraction. With the cushions, they contribute to immobilization. See the video included with each kit. DESCRIPTION : They all thin out distally. Two incorporated midline opaque rulers allow measurements of length and caliber of lesions. The inter-thighs filter (A) has a pyramidal shape. Protect it with a plastic wrap. The two inter-legs filters (B) are bilobed: the main one is thicker. The two external ridges (C) reach the dorsum of the feet; they also suit the upper extremity. A triangular (D) filter borders the sole of the feet. PREPARATION : Place the two Velcro bands on the table, felt facing upward. Lay the main inter-legs upside down, then the accessory one over, with all arrows in the direction of the arterial -circulation. Place a tape with the adhesive side upward. INSTALLATION: The patient lays with his legs on the bands, while the inter-legs filters are placed over them, the depressions against the calves. Deposit the accessory inter-legs filter over the main one. Stick the heels together with the adhesive tape. Then tighten the straps around both filters and legs. If the knees are difficult to bring together, flex them slightly. Lean the lateral ridges against the legs and the feet. Push the triangle filter upside down against the sole of the feet. The inter-thighs filter will be placed before or after the puncture, apex downward and pointed end toward the knees. IMMOBILIZATION: Protect the cushions with a thin plastic sheet. While anchoring crossed adhesive tape to the sides of the table, press down the pyramidal filier between the feet, while sticking the tape to the feet so they will not move by dorsiflection or rotation. The prismatic cushions may help on each side. Also squeeze the knees into the filters by tightening one or two straps anchored to each side of the table . VERIFICATION : Under fluoroscopy or with films, make sure all is centered and symmetrical; that knees and heels are close together; and that there is no halation.
