The Carson Suture Ring

The Carson Suture Ring is a 12" diameter plastic ring. The ring has more than one hundred radial grooves in its circumference. These grooves are formed in soft, vinyl plastic. Each groove is slightly wedge-shaped with the open end of the wedge being toward the outside of the ring. The Carson Ring will not abrade or damage even the finest 7-0 suture. The tension of the suture is precisely controllable and can be delicately adjusted while it is held in the Ring. The Carson Suture Ring obviates the need for clamping individual sutures. All sutures stay in position, exactly where the surgeon wants them, and because of the multiplicity of grooves, sutures can be held in any relationship to each other. The Ring eliminates the time-consuming and frustrating problem of sutures becoming disturbed or entangled during a case.
